Just when you thought driving was no longer an option…new technology makes possibilities endless!
Fadiel NZ have introduced a high level assessment van based at Braiden International in Carterton on the bottom of the North Island near Wellington.
We have partnered with Braiden International to provide you with a skilled team linked in with a Specialist Driving Instructor and Driver Trained OTs to provide driving assessments and driving lessons to help you on your love to drive journey.
The van is fitted with the latest driving controls from Fadiel Italiana and can interchange controls as needed for you, the user.
The wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) has been developed for use by trained high level Specialist Driving Instructors and Driver Trained Occupational Therapists to assess their clients’ capabilities and equipment needs.
To accommodate ‘drive from wheelchair’ the driver seat is removable to allow for a power wheelchair to be placed in the driver position. The vehicle provides an example of the various driving solutions available. It also provides wheelchair restraints to keep you safe whilst driving.

When you contact us, we will put you in touch with a Driver Trained OT who is experienced with high level modifications and works closely with our High Level Driving Instructor. They will coordinate the booking of the van with us and get your assessment under way.
If you are not close to Carterton, the process is the same, you may need to allow more time for the van to be available and booked to come to your local area. Your Driver Trained OT will coordinate this with us and then once assessed, you will coordinate with the Driving Instructor to conduct driving lessons.
